CAN BUS Logger 1.02
Software for CAN bus logging using the easily accessible Openport 2.0 passthru interface.
As we know, many of the electronic modules in motor vehicles today communicate via the CAN bus, and for the use of products using this communication interface, a tool to “see” the bus traffic is essential in the support process.
Version 1.02 – added new CAN bus speeds for customers sending logs from the FBS4 MB immo system 800 kbps and 83.333 kbps for antique MB 😉

To meet the needs of customers who rely on my technical support, I have developed a user-friendly and easy-to-use programme designed to record CAN bus traffic. CAN logger supports the following standard bus speeds:
1 Mbps (1000 kbps), 500 kbps, 800 kbps, 250 kbps, 125 kbps, 83.333 kbps, 50 kbps.
The software supports both 11-bit and 29-bit identifiers simultaneously.
The software is protected by a packer. Use the provided SHA-1 hash (be240392cf02728a603c52f11f56c2b998b437bb) to set an antivirus exception and validate the executable.
The password to the file is sent upon request to our customers requiring technical support for our products.

During operation, the logger creates a buffer that, upon completion of logging, is saved to a text file in a user-friendly format for later analysis.
The application provides a reliable and efficient way to monitor traffic and troubleshoot issues in real time.
The connection to the analysed bus is made by connecting the Openport 2.0 interface to the signals :
PIN 6 – CAN H
PIN 14 – CAN L
The OpenPort 2.0 interface does not have a built-in CAN bus terminator. For the CAN bus to work correctly, the network must be properly terminated. In many cases, termination is already provided by other devices on the bus, but sometimes you may need to add an external terminator yourself.
If you experience communication problems, we recommend checking the CAN bus signal with an oscilloscope. This is the most reliable way to confirm that the termination is correct and that there are no reflections or distortions on the signal.
